Hearts (kind of) in cake pops

Reader Submission for the Pinstrosiversary Challenge:
A couple weeks ago I saw a pin for how to bake a heart into your cupcakes.

I thought "Hmm...maybe I could do that in my cake pop pans." I thought these would be really cute to bring to school on Valentines day. I decided I better do a test trial first. I made cake batter, dyed it pink, and poured it into a cake pan. Once it was minimally baked, I took it out of the oven. I used a plastic cookie cutter that couldn't cut very deep because our metal one was too big for my pans.

After that, I propped up the 5(ish) hearts that turned out alright in the pan and poured batter around them. This is what it was when it came out of the oven. I also should have filled up the pans more.
