About Us

Marquette
is a true renaissance woman with several degrees encompassing studies in English, Thematic Studies, and Secondary Education. She has an eye for photography and with that has built a business from the ground up. Her photography adventures have taken her on travels all around the United States, and introduced her to all sorts of colorful people.  When she isn’t fiddling with a camera, she is crocheting, painting, cooking, reading, and of course blogging. She also finds the time in her busy schedule to dabble in music (including but not limited to choir, piano, and even the occasional oboe rock session, don’t tell her we told you…). With a employment history in the world of astronomy, youth leaderships camps, and national parks service she has acquired a wide range of knowledge in many differing fields.  All in all her many DIY quests have helped her gain a thorough knowledge of the crafting world along with her other hobbies, she is a great resource for any homemaking adventure.

Emilee may possibly be the most stylish biologist out there with degrees in Cosmetology, Biology and Forestry; her style is truly “Blinged out Nature”. She is currently working on a degree in Environmental Sustainability and rocking the university in the process. You can spot her anywhere with her fun colored hair and bright accessorized outfits. Whether Emilee is hiking along a river looking for Chiricahua Leopard Frogs, creating a great up-do, teaching dance to the masses, or chasing after her Hedgehog “Gypsy”, fun and excitement surround her.  With a background in dance team, ballet, FFA, Zumba, biological research, Phillies games, painting and a passion for peacocks, Emilee brings great experience, knowledge and fun to the blog (and all those around her). If you need anything glitterfied or blinged out, Em is definitely your girl.

Emilee and Marquette have been inseparable partners-in-crime since the summer of 2006,but this is not where the adventures  began. Before this time their families had been connected for years ensuring that these two girls would grow up in the same town, go to the same church, and enjoy the same family activities, including, but not limited to, their mothers crafting lifestyle (it runs in the family, these ladies are cousins along with being best friends). After a stint of being roommates, the two have continued to embark on escapades of epic proportions. Together they have been to the beaches of San Diego, the Enchanting Land of New Mexico, and the Deserts of Arizona, ranging from mountainous camping trips, American history tours and any and all sort of girlish silliness. A day out with Marquette and Em can include anything from Jane Austen-esque movies and nail polish, to perusing the hidden depths of the Antique Mall, to oohing over anything orange, or even inner-tubing down a river of mud.

Pinstrosity began one evening as the ladies and their handsome husbands made a night of movies, desserts, and talking about the various projects they were up to. “How fun would it be to showcase all our recently failed attempts to recreate Pinterest projects?!” They began that night and have been typing and Pin testing like mad-women ever since!

  3. Oh, I wish I had of seen this earlier! My son's 4th birthday party was in August - my attempt at the Jello Worms was challenging, the outcome was "interesting". Let's just say that the bowl of Jello Worms were the only thing on the food table that were left untouched. I think I frightened the children...

  8. I learned about your blog through a friend and spent several days going through every single page!
It sucks when a project doesn't work out as planned, but I love that people are so willing to share their misfortunes, often to the amusement of others. I am sure that I will have a submission at some point. Not to say that everything I do works, but I don't usually document the failures. ;)
Thank you for such a fun site.

  9. I have done a similar thing on my blog. http://raynprettydesigns.blogspot.com/ I call it the Pinterest Bucket List. So many of my friends were posting how they pin all these cool things, but never do them.
So I thought, why not blog about doing my pins, because I try a lot of them. A lot of them work, but some don't. So I just keep checking things off my Pinterest Bucket List. :)
    I've enjoyed your page!

Thanks for the advice! :)
