Of course, our version is probably super-amped (it glows like CRAZY) but it has sodium hydroxide pellets in it (think solid lye) and it's super nasty. I wouldn't break one of those open even if it wasn't quite as toxic as our version.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-65338776650501908292013-01-13T20:53:56.252-07:002013-01-13T20:53:56.252-07:00They probably used the store bought glow-in-the-da...They probably used the store bought glow-in-the-dark bubbles. I highly recommend not trying cool stunts like this for the first time in front of very anxious and excited children. My nephew was devastated and I feel like a rotten aunt!:( Thanks Pinterest!:) lolCrystalnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-8090205060322667742012-09-05T14:07:41.482-06:002012-09-05T14:07:41.482-06:00We tried this (no luck). As soon as I cut the glow stick open I had a thought...the "snap" you hear when you activate a glow stick is a little glass capsule breaking (to mix the chems) so there is little shards of glass in the glow solution and of course in your bubbles. I was actually happy this did not work as it saved me the stress of my kids playing with broken glass...lolAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-74823018139839614012012-08-22T11:34:40.711-06:002012-08-22T11:34:40.711-06:00I bought a thing of "miracle bubbles" an...I bought a thing of "miracle bubbles" and tried this by pouring equal parts bubble solution and glow stick fluid into a dixie cup. It glowed like crazy, and the bubbles still formed, but they still didn't glow once you blew them. Lame. There's just now way on this one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-75151876786511157332012-08-14T01:32:24.422-06:002012-08-14T01:32:24.422-06:00Not sure if this will work, haven't actually t...Not sure if this will work, haven't actually tried it. It does work for bathwater. It may be worth a shot for anyone with the time/resources... adding the foam ink-loaded insert from a fluorescent yellow highlighter may work. The glowing will show up best under blacklight. The ink isn't as thick as glow stick liquid, so bubbles may still be able to form.
