I just didn't use THAT recipe - I use the recipe my family has always used.

Combine 1 box angel food cake mix (the one step kind... use just the mix, don't follow box instructions) with ONE can of lemon pie filling. Bake until set and slightly golden.

You can also use the confetti angel food cake mix (I did by accident once) if you'd like the bars more festive.

These also taste good if you sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

They also freeze nicely.merryncolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10655897195657009459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-86579049075048780562013-04-25T06:55:17.363-06:002013-04-25T06:55:17.363-06:00So I missed this post earlier. I actually stopped the dishwasher so I wouldn't have an entire kitchen of bubbles. Pour salt liberally on the bubbles. I don't know why it works, but it does. Or I have heard a little oil will also do the same thing, But I didn't want to deal with oil in my dishwasher. Ran the dishes through twice, and all was good.Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17945822386789494829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-57752222633034810952013-04-24T21:24:13.248-06:002013-04-24T21:24:13.248-06:00I agree^^^ Awesome man for helping his wife.....an...I agree^^^ Awesome man for helping his wife.....and cleaning up his own mess Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14649759892955865014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-69352540316920661252013-04-21T23:41:53.485-06:002013-04-21T23:41:53.485-06:00The photo of the husband sweeping the floor might ...The photo of the husband sweeping the floor might just be the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen :)

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-78369534649289287182013-04-21T19:33:58.477-06:002013-04-21T19:33:58.477-06:00If you haven't made them yet, don't! The texture is awkward, spongy on the bottom and slightly creamy on the top, and the taste is just bizarre. They were somehow both sickeningly sweet and very sour.
