Oops) And instead of burning myself I ended up covered in a ridiculous amount of bruises. I was asked for weeks if my relationship was ok. I would just laugh and tell them it was an unfortunate waxing accident. paperheartspapercutshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15668455588116742330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-43362411947715562762012-10-14T13:22:56.832-06:002012-10-14T13:22:56.832-06:00I did not do this but I did the episom salt and ba...I did not do this but I did the episom salt and baking soda bath soak and ended up with burns on my back! I soaked for the 15 minutes like the pin said and noticed after 10 minutes my skin was on fire! It took 2 weeks for the marks to fade.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-46889351988380191492012-10-01T19:59:46.813-06:002012-10-01T19:59:46.813-06:00I have used this recipe several times, and it is r...I have used this recipe several times, and it is really important to have a candy thermometer so that it is heated properly. I applied with a wooden stick the first time, and butter knife every other time. The results were surprisingly good. There were a few little spots that just didn't seem to want to wax off (on my legs), but afterward I enjoyed a couple of weeks with no shaving...I call that a win! Oh, and it does hurt the first time...quite a bit...but subsequent waxing sessions were much less painful!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-50759206028706732222012-09-21T17:57:54.792-06:002012-09-21T17:57:54.792-06:00I used Youtube videos as a guide, and I had no iss...I used Youtube videos as a guide, and I had no issues with it. The recipe I used was just sugar, water, and lemon juice. It was no more dangerous than cooking soup. I waxed both my arms a few times, as well as parts of my face. (I would NOT use it on brows, though, as it would be too easy to remove too much hair.) One tip is to cool the wax on a cheap tray so it is in a shallow layer. It cools more quickly, and it is easier to grab a chunk with just your fingers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-22331355974471704272012-09-20T06:49:30.312-06:002012-09-20T06:49:30.312-06:00I'm a wuss to pain too so don't feel bad! ...I'm a wuss to pain too so don't feel bad! Here's a tip, though: Take an aspirin or ibuprofen (the latter especially if you notice slight swelling or redness immediately after you wax) 30-45 minutes before waxing to help with pain and the skin's reaction. There are also products on the market to help with the pain and sensitivity of skin before and after waxing :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299578764487881408.post-40570958980932765812012-09-16T07:51:17.743-06:002012-09-16T07:51:17.743-06:00Sugaring is great when done by a professional. My sister took classes to get certified and she came home with bruises because her classmate was practicing on her, incorrectly. I was transporting the hot mixture to the bathroom to finish cooling and to apply. The metal butter knife fell out of the hot mixture and landed on my toe. I stuck to Nair or a razor after that severe burn!

On a side note, if you put a pickle slice on where you burned yourself, as soon as you can, and leave it on until its pretty much room temp, it helps draw the burn out and you won't blister.
